Training your dog helps to establish a clear communication system between you and your pet. This makes it easier for you to understand their needs, and for them to understand what you expect from them.
A trained dog is less likely to engage in destructive or dangerous behavior that could harm themselves, others, or your property. This can include things like biting, digging, jumping, and running away.
Trained dogs tend to be better socialized and more comfortable around other people and animals. This can make it easier for you to take your dog out in public, introduce them to new people, and avoid aggressive or fearful behavior.
Training is a great way to bond with your dog and build a strong relationship based on mutual trust and respect. This can lead to a happier and more fulfilling life for both you and your pet.
Many dogs thrive on mental stimulation; training is a great opportunity to learn new things and stay mentally active. Training also helps prevent boredom and anxiety, which can lead to destructive behavior or health problems.
Hi, I'm Derrick, the owner and lead trainer at LVK9. With over 10 years of experience in dog training, my mission is to help you and your canine companion build a bond based on trust, respect, and clear communication.
Before diving into dog training, I earned a degree in sociology and served for 5 years in the U.S. Army, including 15 months in Iraq as a combat veteran. These experiences shaped my understanding of discipline, teamwork, and resilience-qualities I bring to my work with dogs and their owners.
My passion for dog training began after I discovered PSA (Protection Sports Association), a competitive sport focused on obedience, agility, and protection work. This journey ignited my love for understanding canine behavior and has driven me to refine my training methods to suit dogs of all breeds, sizes, and temperaments.
When I'm not working with clients, I'm a proud dad to three kids, one dog, and very opinionated cat. Whether you're looking to address behavior challenges, improve obedience, or pursue advanced training. I'm here to help you and your dog succeed.
Let's work together to unlock your dog's full potential!
